Despite a valiant effort against the #7-ranked team in the nation, a one-minute stretch of action late in the first half squashed any chances of the Panthers men's lacrosse team pulling off the upset in the season finale. At the final horn, Genesee Community College had a 21-11 win over the Panthers. Tompkins Cortland ends the season with a record of 1-5. Genesee improves to 5-4 overall and 5-1 in Region 3 play.

The Panthers started strong. Thomas Boyle (Poughkeepsie/Arlington H.S.) scored in the third minute of play, and after Genesee answered, Alan Porter-Jackson (Buchanan/Hendrick Hudson H.S.) put the Panthers back in the lead at 2-1 with 8:35 left in the first. The lead last just 30 seconds before Genesee tied the score, starting a run of seven straight goals that carried into the second quarter. Trailing 8-2 just a few minutes into the second quarter, the Panthers turned things around b scoring three straight, pulling within 8-5 on a goal by Billy Kozloski (Johnson City/Johnson City H.S.) with 3:37 left in the half. The momentum was snapped by a Cougars goal a minute later, but a spurt of four goals over the final 66 seconds of the half was the killer. After pulling within three goals, the deficit was pushed back to eight in a flash, dimming the prospects of a second-half comeback.

In the third, Kozloski started the scoring, making the score 13-6, but Genesee scored the next six goals to put things out of reach.

Kozloski finished the game with nine points, netting three goas and tying a Panthers single-game record with six assists. Boyle and Porter-Jackson, and Brandon Pignato (Greece/Greece Athena H.S.) each had two goals and an assist. Avery Watson (Watkins Glen/Watkins Glen H.S.) had a goal and an assist and Lesley Hines (New Haven, Conn./Wingate Campus) netted a goal.

Declan Fullerton (Westchester/Walter Panas H.S.), Tyler Gavitt (Cortland/Cortland H.S.), and Dylan Ford (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) shared time in goal, combining to record 15 saves in goal.
