The second game of the season for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's lacrosse team was the second chance for the Panthers to square up against a nationally ranked team. On Saturday, the Panthers traveled to Syracuse to take on #4-ranked Onondaga Community College. The Panthers did hold an early lead, but ultimately couldn't keep up with the powerhouse Lazers, falling 26-4. The Panthers drop to 0-2 on the season.

After forcing a turnover on Onondaga's first possession, the Panthers took advantage. Alan Porter-Jackson (Buchanan/Hendrick Hudson H.S.) put the Panthers on the board first, rifling a shot into the net from 15 yards out. Onondaga responded with three goals, but a score by Billy Kozloski (Johnson City/Johnson City H.S.) made it a one-goal deficit at 3-2 after one quarter. The second quarter belonged to the Lazers. The home team outscored the Panthers 9-1 to take a commanding 12-3 lead into half.

The third opened with Onondaga rolling on with ten straight goals. Brandon Figueroa (Chelsea, Mass./Chelsea) broke the run late in the quarter, making the score 22-4 heading into the final 15 minutes. Onondaga closed out the game by scoring four more and keeping the Panthers off the board in the fourth.

Kozloski finished with two goals and an assist. Porter-Jackson and Figueroa each had a goal and Brandon Pignato (Greece/Greece Athena H.S.) had an assist.

Declan Fullerton (Westchester/Walter Panas H.S.) had 18 saves in three quarters in goal for the Panthers. Tyler Gavitt (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) had five saves in the fourth quarter.
