Four Panthers Voted All-Conference for Lacrosse

2019 All-MSAC Team

Four Tompkins Cortland Community College players have earned spots on the Mid-State Athletic Conference men's lacrosse all-conference team. In voting by the coaches from the MSAC programs, Tyler Ponticello (Homer/Homer H.S.), Dante Cuttino (Tully/Tully H.S.), Pat Hartnett (Cortland/Cortland H.S.), and Ben Pallone (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) were among the 20 named to the team. Conference champion Onondaga Community College had the most all-conference selections with eight, followed by five for Finger Lakes Community College. Jefferson Community College had two players selected. Tompkins Cortland, Finger Lakes, and Jefferson tied for second place in the conference standings.

Ponticello was one of the top face-off men in the region. He took nearly all of the face-offs for the Panthers, and won 95 times, the second most in the conference. He also scored 11 points on 7 goals and 4 assists. Cuttino was one of the most versatile players on the Panthers, spending time at attack, midfield, and defense. With a short stick, he had one of the hardest shots in the region, accounting for 24 points on a team-best 19 goals and 5 assists. Hartnett led the team in scoring and was sixth in the conference in assists, finishing with 33 points on 17 goals and 16 assists. Pallone was an anchor in goal for the P anthers, playing every minute of every game. He was second in the conference in save percentage (52.3%) and goals against average (14.78). He kept opponents to 13 or fewer goals in five of the nine games.

Ponticello is the lone sophomore among the Panther selections.  This year marks the eighth straight season the Panthers have placed a player on the all-conference team.
