For just the fourth time this season, the Panthers men's basketball team was held below 70 points on Saturday. And in each case, the Panthers lost – this time falling to Columbia-Greene Community College, 82-67. The loss drops Tompkins Cortland to 14-6 overall and 14-5 in Region 3. Columbia –Greene is now 8-11.
Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.) led three scorers in double figures with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Javonte Long (Harlem/Clayton H.S.) and Dwain Frazier (Jamaica/Jamaica H.S.) added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Looking ahead
The Panthers have a big conference showdown at Genesee Community College on Wednesday. The Panthers and Cougars are tied for first place in the Mid-State Athletic Conference, with each having two conference games left in the regular season.
