Panthers Men Upset on the Road

The Panthers men's basketball team was upset at SUNY Adirondack Saturday, falling 65-63 on a buzzer beater. Tompkins Cortland drops to 7-4 overall and 7-3 in regional play. Adirondack is now 4-11 overall and 2-8 in region.

The Panthers led 33-31 at the half, but the Timberwolves kept it close the second half before pulling out the win in the final seconds. Tompkins Cortland came into the game averaging more than 81 points per game, but posted its lowest point total of the season. Saturday was just the second time this season the Panthers scored less than 74 points in a game.

Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.) kept up his string of double-doubles with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Javonte Long (Harlem/Clayton H.S.) put up 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Damari Johnson (Binghamton/Johnson City H.S.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds.
