Panthers Men Top Cayuga for 2-0 Start to Season

Another fast start for the Panthers men's basketball team led to a 74-58 at Cayuga Community College on Saturday. The Panthers are now 2-0 overall and in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga is now 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the MSAC.

For the second straight game, the Panthers owned the first half. Against the Spartans, the Panthers scored the first seven points, and later used a 22-7 run to pull away for a 36-17 lead at halftime. The lead hovered around 20 points most of the second half as the Spartans never mounted a serious threat during the second twenty minutes of play.

Khai Pugh (Syracuse/Nottingham H.S.) posted his second double-double, going for 19 points and 15 boards. Bryan Viscaino (Manhattan/Monsignor Scanlon H.S.) tossed in 15 points and Marqiis Samuels (Long Island/The Patrick School) added 14 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Damari Johnson (Binghamton/Johnson City H.S.) had a big day on the glass, pulling down 15 rebounds.
