Alvarez and VanDuzer Named All-MSAC

2023 Baseball All-MSAC

Two members of the Tompkins Cortland Community College baseball team have been voted to the Mid-State Athletic Conference all-conference team. Ledy Alvarez (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Americano) and Kannon VanDuzer (Sayre, Penn./Sayre Area H.S.) were recognized in voting done by the coaches from the seven teams in the conference. A total of 18 players were named to the baseball all-conference team.

Alvarez, a freshman shortstop, led the team in slugging percentage (.662), home runs (6), and stolen bases (15) and tied for the team lead in RBI (21). He had an eight-game hitting streak and was second on the team in average (.378) and on-base percentage (.471).

VanDuzer, a freshman who played first base and pitched, led the Panthers in batting average (.410), hits (32), and runs scored (20). He tied for the team lead in doubles (6) and RBI (21) and was second in home runs (3). On the mound he was fifth in innings pitched, throwing 23 innings over the course of six appearances.
