  • National Honors for Academics for Seven Panthers
    July 24, 2019
    Seven Tompkins Cortland Community College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Sage Garrison (Odessa/Odessa-Montour H.S.), Amanda Green (Lansing/Lansing H.S.), Austin Kulas (Moravia/Moravia H.S.), and Kaylie Yerdon (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley H.S.) were recognized for the second straight year; it was the first time honored for Kimberly Duda (Homer/Homer H.S.), Jessica Fisk (Waterloo/Waterloo H.S.), and Ryan Foody (Tully /Tully H.S.).

    Marathon High graduate Zoe Carter has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play for the Panthers.

    Nine Tompkins Cortland Community College student-athletes have been recognized as Academic All-Region by Region III of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Sage Garrison (Odessa/Odessa-Montour H.S.), Marcus Gonzalez (Dryden/Dryden H.S.), Amanda Green (Lansing/Lansing H.S.), Erin Harkenrider (Dryden/Dryden H.S.), Austin Kulas (Moravia/Moravia H.S.), and Kaylie Yerdon (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley H.S.) were recognized for their excellence in the classroom.
  • Casterline Signs with Panthers

    Homer High's Ashley Casterline will join the Panthers softball program for the 2019-20 year. Head coach Maranda Kinsman announced Casterline has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent.
  • Record Signs to Join Panthers in 2019-20

    Panthers Softball Head Coach Maranda Kinsman announced Reilly Record has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to play for the Panthers. The Cortland High senior is expected to play both softball and basketball for the College during the 2019-20 seasons.

  • Last-Inning Rally Falls Just Short in Panthers Softball Finale
    May 11, 2019
    The Panthers softball nearly ended the season on a dramatic note, coming up just short of pulling off a come-from-behind win in the season finale on Saturday. Playing host to Mohawk Valley Community College, the Panthers lost game one 8-0 before being nipped by a score of 7-6 in game two. Tompkins Cortland ends the season with a record of 1-19 while Mohawk Valley is now 12-12.

  • Panthers Can't Match Adirondack Bats

    The Panthers softball team faced off with one of the hottest-hitting teams in the region Wednesday, hosting SUNY Adirondack. The result was a pair of losses for the home team, 28-1 ad 10-2. Tompkins Cortland is now 1-17 overall and in Region III. Adirondack is 8-14 overall and 8-6 in Region III.
  • First Win of the Year for Panthers Softball
    April 30, 2019
    The Panthers softball team snapped a season-long losing streak on Tuesday, rallying to beat Cayuga Community College in extra innings, 9-7, in game one of a doubleheader in Auburn. Cayuga took game two 12-0, but the win in game one ended a 14-game skid for the Panthers. Tompkins Cortland is now 1-15 overall and in Region III. Cayuga is 5-11 overall and 5-9 in Region III.
  • Shortsleeve Signs Letter of Intent to Join Panthers

    Ashley Shortsleeve has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to play for the Panthers. The Cortland High standout will play both softball and basketball for the College while enrolling in the General Studies program with plans to ultimately pursue a four-year degree in physical education.
  • Softball Overwhelmed by Corning
    April 25, 2019
    Coming of its best offensive performance of the season on Tuesday, the Panthers softball team had one of its toughest days at the plate on Thursday, managing just four hits and one run on the afternoon while losing to Corning Community College, 20-0 and 23-1. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-14 on the year while Corning is 15-12 overall and 9-6 in Region III.
  • More Offense for Panthers Softball

    The Panthers softball team had its best offensive day of the season Tuesday, scoring 14 runs over the course of a doubleheader at Finger Lakes Community College. Even with the uptick in scoring, the Panthers remained winless on the year with a pair of losses to the Lakers, 18-6 and 18-8. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-12 on the year while Finger Lakes is 4-22 overall and 4-16 in Region III.
  • Softball Takes Two Losses at Onondaga

    The Panthers softball team had another rough day on Saturday, losing to Onondaga Community College 24-0 and 21-4. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-10 on the year while Onondaga is 16-9 overall and 9-1 in Region III.
  • Softball Struggles Continue Against Jefferson
    April 18, 2019
    The Panthers softball team continued to struggle on both sides of the plate Thursday, losing doubleheader to Jefferson Community College, 20-1 and 11-1. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-8 on the year. Jefferson is 5-9 overall and 5-5 in Region III.
  • Tuesday Softball vs. Fulton-Montgomery Postoned
    April 16, 2019
    The doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday (4/16) at home vs. Fulton-Montgomery has been postponed due to poor field conditions. No makeup date has yet been scheduled. Makeup dates have been announced for two other early season postponements: the Panthers will play at Cayuga Community College on April 30 and will host Monroe Community College on May 7.
  • Panthers Shutout in Home Doubleheader

    The Panthers softball team played host to the top team in the region – and one of the best in the nation – on Saturday. With Herkimer College coming to Dryden, the Panthers saw firsthand why the Generals are so highly regarded, getting blanked in both ends of the doubleheader, losing 27-0 and 16-0. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-6 on the year. With the wins, Herkimer, the #2-ranked team in the nation, is now 21-5 overall and 6-0 in Region III.
  • Panthers Softball Drops Two at Broome
    April 10, 2019
    The Panthers softball team fell to 0-4 on the season with a pair of losses to SUNY Broome on Wednesday, 8-0 and 15-1. All four Tompkins Cortland losses have come in Region III play. With the wins, Broome improves to 5-5 overall and 5-3 in Region III on the year.

    Sunday's softball doubleheader at Mohawk Valley Community College has been postponed due to field conditions. No makeup date has been set yet.
  • Saturday Baseball and Softball Postponed
    April 06, 2019
    The baseball and softball games scheduled for Saturday, April 6 have been postponed due to poor field conditions. The baseball team was scheduled to host Niagara County Community College and the softball team was scheduled to host Monroe Community College. Makeup dates have not yet been confirmed.
  • Rough Opener for Panthers Softball

    The 2019 season got off to a rough start for the Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team Thursday as the Panthers dropped a doubleheader to Erie Community College, 28-1 and 19-0. Tompkins Cortland is 0-2 while Erie is now 4-2 on the year.
  • April 2 Baseball and Softball Postponed
    April 01, 2019
    The baseball and softball games scheduled for Tuesday, April 2 have been postponed. The snow that welcomed the month of April has left fields unplayable, so the baseball doubleheader at Jamestown Community College and the softball doubleheader at Cayuga Community College have been postponed.

  • Softball Information Meeting

    An information meeting for anyone interested playing intercollegiate softball at Tompkins Cortland is scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 at 12:30 p.m. in the Athletics Facility Field House. This meeting is for all returning players as well as any student interested in playing for the Panthers this year. If you are interested but can't make the meeting, get in touch with Coach Kinsman in the athletics office.
  • Kinsman Named Head Softball Coach
    August 16, 2018
    Maranda Kinsman has been named the head softball coach at Tompkins Cortland Community College. Kinsman, who served as an assistant coach last season, replaces Dave Stevenson in the top seat. Stevenson, who will continue to coach the College’s women’s basketball team, led the Panthers softball team for a total of three seasons.
