Alex Babcock, Ryan Ballard, Austin Kulas, Joseph Tummino

Four Tompkins Cortland Community College players have earned spots on the Mid-State Athletic Conference baseball all-conference team. In voting by the coaches from the seven MSAC programs, Alex Babcock (Cortland/Cortland H.S.), Ryan Ballard (Rochester/Greece Athena H.S.), Austin Kulas (Moravia/Moravia H.S.), and Joseph Tummino (Homer/Homer H.S.) were selected for the 15-player team.

Sophomore shortstop Babcock was a repeat all-conference selection, becoming the eighth player to do so in Tompkins Cortland history. He was among the conference leaders this year with a .402 batting average and finished his career with 82 hits, the third most ever for a Panther.

Ballard, a freshman, was one of just two catchers selected. His .981 fielding percentage was tops among regular players on the Panthers and he finished second on the team in home runs.

Kulas, a sophomore, led the conference and tied the Panthers record for doubles in a season with 17. He hit an even .400 with a 39 RBI, the third most in the conference. In the field, he had just one error while playing every game this season in right field.

Tummino, a freshman, was a standout at the plate and on the mound. He led the conference while setting a new Panthers record with a.479 batting average. His 57 hits also established a new standard for the Panthers, breaking a record set in 2010. As a pitcher, he posted a 2.95 ERA while going 3-1.

The Panthers finished 2018 with a conference record of 13-5, second best in the MSAC.
