Panthers Get Work In for Pitching Staff at Ithaca

The Tompkins Cortland Community College baseball team entered its non-region game Sunday against Ithaca College JV as a good opportunity for the pitching staff to get in some work. The result was eight pitchers seeing time on the mound in a 6-2 loss to the Bombers.

No Panther threw more than two innings, and combined the staff allowed just two earned runs on eight hits while striking out nine. The team was undermined by eight walks and three errors in the field, helping Ithaca score four unearned runs.

Offensively the Panthers collected ten hits over the nine-inning game, with Chris Micucci (Auburn/Auburn H.S.) and Storm Grant (Homer/Homer H.S.) each finishing with two knocks.
