The #7-ranked team in the nation was too much for the Tompkins Cortland women's basketball team to handle on Saturday as the Panthers lost at home to Onondaga Community College, 112-31. The loss leaves the Panthers with a record of 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is 16-3 overall and 4-0 in the MSAC.

The Panthers were outplayed in nearly every facet of the game, but especially in shooting. While Onondaga was converting on better than 50% from the field, including making 18-of-39 from three-point range, Tompkins Cortland made just 14% from the floor and just 1-of-14 from three-point range.

For the fourth-straight game, Shaylin Heidl (Candor/Candor H.S.) led the team in scoring. The sophomore scored 15 and grabbed 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. K'Anndra Rhoden (Brentwood/Brentwood H.S.) added 8 points and 8 rebounds.

The Panthers look to get back on track when they head back on the road Wednesday for a game at Cayuga Community College.
