  • Four Panthers Voted All-Conference for Lacrosse

    Four Tompkins Cortland Community College players have earned spots on the Mid-State Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse all-conference team. In voting by the coaches from the MSAC programs, Tyler Ponticello (Homer/Homer H.S.), Dante Cuttino (Tully/Tully H.S.), Pat Hartnett (Cortland/Cortland H.S.), and Ben Pallone (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) were among the 20 named to the team. Conference champion Onondaga Community College had the most all-conference selections with eight, followed by five for Finger Lakes Community College. Jefferson Community College had two players selected. Tompkins Cortland, Finger Lakes, and Jefferson tied for second place in the conference standings.
  • Panthers Hang Tough Before Being Eliminated from Playoffs

    The Tompkins Cortland and Hudson Valley Community College lacrosse teams have certainly become quite familiar with each other. Each of the past three years, the two teams have met once in the regular season and then again in the first round of the NJCAA Region III playoffs. In the past two years, the Panthers were the higher seed and hosted the playoff game, and both times, the Panthers advanced with close wins. This year the Vikings were the higher seed and hosted the Panthers in Troy on Wednesday. Once again this year, it was a close game, with the higher seed prevailing as the Vikings handing the Panthers a 12-8 defeat. With the loss, the Panthers end the year with a record of 2-7. Hudson Valley advances to the Region IIIB Championship game against Genesee Community College on Saturday. The Vikings have an overall record of 9-4.
  • Panthers Lacrosse Earns Third Straight Playoff Bid

    For the third straight year, and the fifth time in six years, the Tompkins Cortland Community College lacrosse team is heading to the NJCAA playoffs. The Panthers are the #6 seed in the Region III Tournament and will play at #3-seed Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday, May 1.
  • Regular Season Ends for Panthers at Genesee

    Thursday marked the end of the regular season for the Tompkins Cortland lacrosse team. The Panthers traveled to Batavia to take on #8-ranked Genesee this season, coming home with a 20-2 loss. The Panthers close out the regular season with a record of 2-6 while Genesee is now 5-4 overall and 5-1 in Region III.
  • Lacrosse Drops Home Finale

    Playing at home for the last time this season, the Panthers lacrosse team never could get things going in a 13-3 loss to Herkimer College on Saturday. The Panthers are now 2-5 on the season while Herkimer is 3-3 overall and 2-3 in Region III.
  • Panthers Lacrosse Dominates at Mohawk Valley

    After opening the season with an exciting overtime win, the Panthers lacrosse team had built up some frustration while losing four straight entering Wednesday night’s road game. Playing at Mohawk Valley Community College, the Panthers were able to take out their frustrations to the tune of a 17-2 win over the Hawks. The win improves Tompkins Cortland’s record to 2-4 while Mohawk Valley drops to 0-3.
  • Panthers Fall to Nation's #3

    Handcuffed with a depleted roster all season, the Panthers lacrosse team has made its mark by battling to the final whistle, despite the odds. Saturday saw a perfect example of that attitude and spirit as Tompkins Cortland hosted the defending national champion, and current #3-ranked team in the nation, Onondaga Community College. Though significantly outmanned, the Panthers gave it everything they had, falling by a final score of 22-1. The loss drops the Panthers to 1-4 overall and in Region III and 1-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is 5-2 overall, 3-0 in Region III, and 2-0 in the MSAC.
  • Lacrosse Drops Road Game

    Over the last two seasons, Tompkins Cortland Community College and Hudson Valley Community College have developed a nice rivalry on the lacrosse field. The teams have played four times, including twice in the NJCAA Region III playoffs. Each game was hard fought and tight, with the Panthers pulling out the win each time. In fact, the Panthers had won seven straight against the Vikings entering Wednesday’s game, dating all the way back to the 2014 season. While Wednesday’s game was just one regular season contest, if the Vikings were looking for some revenge, they certainly found it. Hudson Valley dominated the game from the beginning, racing out to a big lead before cruising to a 17-4 win over the Panthers. The Panthers are now 1-3 overall and in Region III. Hudson Valley is now 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Region III.
  • Panthers Run Out Of Steam in Home Loss

    A nearly 25-minute scoreless stretch to end the game took the Tompkins Cortland lacrosse team from ahead by a pair of goals to a 13-8 loss to Jefferson Community College on Wednesday. The Panthers are now 1-2 overall and in Region III and 1-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson is 2-1 overall and 1-0 in both Region III and the MSAC.
  • Panthers Lacrosse Can't Keep Up with Monroe
    March 16, 2019
    Big scoring runs by the home team proved to be too much for the Panthers to answer as Monroe Community College posted a 22-9 win over Tompkins Cortland Community College in NJCAA Region III lacrosse action Saturday. The loss drops the Panthers to 1-1 on the year while Monroe improves to 1-2.
  • Lax Opens Season with Overtime Win
    March 13, 2019
    A goal by Jacob Lewis (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) with six second left in overtime made a winner of the Panthers lacrosse team in its 2019 season opener Wednesday. Looking to build on a strong 2018 season that saw the Panthers ranked in the top ten in the nation, the Tompkins Cortland started 2019 with a thrilling 14-13 overtime road win at Finger Lakes Community College. It’s the second year in a row the Panthers have opened the season with a Region III and Mid-State Athletic Conference win. Finger Lakes is now 1-3 overall. It was the opener of Region III and MSAC play for the Lakers.

  • Lacrosse Season Opener Postponed

    Mother nature has caused a change to our men's lacrosse schedule. The season-opener scheduled for Saturday, March 2 vs. Sussex County CC has been postponed due to the latest snowstorm. While we work to reschedule the Sussex game, right now the next game on the schedule is March 13 at Finger Lakes.
