    Panthers men's basketball has signed a guard from one of this year's top high school teams. Corcoran High senior Arthur Williams, Jr. has committed to Tompkins Cortland and will arrive on campus for the Fall 2020.

    First-team all-state selection Jourdan Belcher has committed to join the Panthers men's basketball program this fall. The Alexander Hamilton High School senior signed his NJCAA National Letter of Intent to come to Tompkins Cortland.

    James Rhodes has committed to the Panthers men's basketball program. The Irvington high senior has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent to come to Tompkins Cortland this fall.    
  • Panthers Men's Basketball Closes Out Season at Home

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team dropped its season finale Saturday, losing at home to Cayuga Community College 78-71. The Panthers finish the season with a record of 5-17 overall and 1-11 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga is now 8-14 overall and 4-7 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Men Come Up Short at Onondaga

    Playing well in stretches wasn’t enough for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team Wednesday as the Panthers lost on the road to #6-ranked Onondaga Community College. The 80-62 defeat leaves the Panthers with a record of 5-16 overall and 1-10 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is 22-3 overall and 10-0 in the MSAC.
  • Panthers Snap Skid with Win at Adirondack

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team snapped an eight-game skid in emphatic fashion Saturday, beating SUNY Adirondack 94-61. The 94 points scored represents the most by the Panthers since a 97-79 win over Fulton-Montgomery back on November 21. The win improves the Panthers to 5-15 on the season while Adirondack drops to 1-21.
  • Cold-Shooting Panthers Fall to Corning

    For just the third time this season, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team shot below 30% from the floor on Wednesday. And, just as the first two games, the result was a loss for the Panthers. The 97-71 to Corning Community College leaves the Panthers with a record of 4-15 overall and 1-9 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Corning is now 13-9 overall and 7-2 in the MSAC.

    A comfortable first half turned into a very uncomfortable second half as the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team saw its lead slip away to an 87-74 loss to SUNY Broome Friday. The Panthers are now 4-14 overall and 1-8 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and Broome is now 6-16 overall and 1-6 in the MSAC.

    A late rally wasn’t enough for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team to overcome a cold-shooting night as the Panthers lost to Jefferson Community College 82-72 on Wednesday. The Panthers are now 4-13 overall and 1-7 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and Jefferson is 12-6 overall and 4-3 in the MSAC.

    A rough patch of poor ball security cost the Tompkins Cortland Community College men?s basketball team in its bid for a road conference win Saturday. Playing at Finger Lakes Community College, the Panthers saw a second-half lead dissolve as the Lakers pulled away for a 90-80 final. The Panthers are now 4-12 overall and 1-6 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference and Finger Lakes is 13-8 overall and 4-3 in the MSAC.

    With two of the team’s top three scorers sidelined with injuries, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team battled to the end on Wednesday, coming up just short on the road, losing 89-86 at Cayuga Community College. The Panthers fall to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga is 7-9 overall and 3-2 in the MSAC.

    Cold shooting and poor ball security combined to keep the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team from challenging 11th-ranked Onondaga Community College Saturday, losing at home 87-54. The result drops the Panthers 4-10 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is 16-3 overall and 4-0 in the MSAC.

    After putting up 51 points in the first half, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team went cold in the second, adding only 25 points and losing 94-76 to Finger Lakes Community College Wednesday. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Finger Lakes 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the MSAC.

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team ran up against one of the hottest teams in the nation Saturday, and the result wasn’t pretty. Playing on the road against #3-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College, the Panthers lost by a final of 117-54. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-5 overall and 3-4 in Region III. Mohawk Valley is 8-1 overall and 6-0 in region.

    After letting early leads slip away in two of their early-season losses, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team made sure to finish on Thursday, winning in convincing fashion over Fulton-Montgomery Community College, 97-79. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-4 overall and 3-3 in Region III. Fulton-Montgomery is 2-3 overall and in region.

    After leading most of the opening 20 minutes, including 37-36 at the half, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team saw its lead dissolve in the second half of an 81-72 loss at Jefferson Community College Tuesday. Tompkins Cortland is now 2-4 overall, 2-3 in Region III, and 0-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Jefferson is 4-3 overall, 4-2 in region, and 1-0 in MSAC.

    After a pair of tough road losses, Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team returned home and got back in the win column Saturday, beating Clinton Community College,  . Tompkins Cortland is now 2-3 overall and 2-2 in regional play. Clinton is 2-3 overall and 1-3 in region.
  • Panthers Put Up Strong Effort vs. National Champs

    For the second time already this season, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team went up against a team ranked among the top teams in the nation. Playing Tuesday at #4-ranked and defending national champion Herkimer College, the Panthers put forth a strong effort, throwing a scare into the home team before falling by final of 74-61. Tompkins Cortland is now 1-3 overall and 1-2 in regional play. Herkimer is 3-1 overall and in region.

    The Tompkins Cortland men’s basketball team went on the road for the first time this season, losing 93-84 to Columbia-Greene Community College. The Panthers are now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in regional play. Columbia-Greene is now 2-1 overall and 1-0 in region.
  • Panthers Win Region III Opener
    November 05, 2019
    After opening the season with a non-region game against one of the top teams in the nation, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team jumped into Region III play Tuesday, hosting Schenectady County Community College. The Panthers took an early lead and spent the rest of the game building and protecting that lead, finishing with a 72-56 win. The Panthers are now 1-1 overall and 1-0 in regional play. Schenectady is 0-1 overall and in region.
  • Panthers Men Open Season Against Powerful Northampton

    The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team opened the season Friday with a non-region game against one of the top teams in the nation. Hosting Northampton Community College (Penn.), the Panthers matched up with the Spartans over a close first half, but saw things slip away in the second of an 85-64 loss. It was also the first game of the year for Northampton, a team that spent several weeks ranked in the top ten in the nation last season and was among the schools receiving votes in the this year’s preseason rankings.
