The Tompkins Cortland Community College volleyball team couldn't overcome a slow start Tuesday, falling to Onondaga Community College in straight sets. The Panthers drop to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga improves to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the MSAC.

The night started slowly, with the Panthers dropping the opening set 25-12. The Panthers rebounded and the final two sets were competitive down to the end, 25-23 and 25-21, but Onondaga held on to complete the sweep.

Molly Baker (Newark Valley/Newark Valley H.S.) again led the Panthers, finishing with five digs, three kills, three blocks, and two aces. Erin Harkenrider (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) had three kills and an ace, and Kadija Hill-Custis (Syracuse/Fowler H.S.) had two kills, an ace, and a dig. Natasha Feocco (Dryden/Newfield H.S.) dished out seven assists.

This Panthers return to Region III play Saturday when they travel to Johnstown to take part in three matches hosted by Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
