Panthers Drop MSAC Finale

The last conference match of the volleyball season ended with a 3-0 loss for Tompkins Cortland Community College Wednesday as the Panthers fell in straight sets to Jefferson Community College. The Panthers end with a 1-5 record in the Mid-State Athletic Conference while Jefferson finishes at 5-1. Both teams conclude their regular season with Region III matches this weekend. Tompkins Cortland's overall record is now 7-11 while Jefferson stands at 20-5.

The match scores were 25-7, 25-20, and 25-16. Lakers won by scores of 25-8, 25-20, and 25-12. Erin Harkenrider (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) and Jade VanWagenen (McGraw/McGraw H.S) each had five kills, with Harkenrider adding three aces. Amanda Green (Lansing/Lansing H.S.) finished with ten assists, four digs, and a pair of aces.

The regular season concludes this weekend with the Panthers hosting a Region III pod featuring matches against Finger Lakes Community College, Genesee Community College, and Monroe Community College. The volleyball action will run most of the day Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.
