Panthers Hang Close with Broome

Playing another full game a player short, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer team was able to hang close with SUNY Broome before losing 2-0. The Panthers are now 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome improves to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the MSAC.

Tompkins Cortland keeper Gabby Foley (Barton/Tioga H.S.) led a phenomenal defensive effort, keeping the game scoreless through the first half. The Hornets broke through with a goal early in the second half, but the Panthers kept the score at 1-0 until the closing minutes when Broome tacked on a score with 3:43 left to play.

Foley finished with 13 saves.

The Panthers close out the season at home Sunday, taking on Onondaga Community College at 2:30 p.m.
