Hosting Hudson Valley Community College for a rescheduled game, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 final on Sunday. The Panthers are now 0-7 on the season; Hudson Valley is 5-5.
Playing on back-to-back days due to the postponement earlier in the season, the Panthers gave their all, but just couldn't keep up with the Vikings. After the Panthers had some early chances, Hudson Valley found the net for the first score in the 12th minute. The score held at 1-0 most of the first half, but the Vikings put one in in the closing minutes to make it 2-0 at the break. The lone score in the second half came midway through the period, making the final 3-0.
Tompkins Cortland keeper Gabby Foley (Barton/Tioga H.S.) recorded eight saves in goal.
Looking ahead
The Panthers are scheduled to host SUNY Broome Wednesday.
