Panthers Women Drop Home Opener

Playing shorthanded at home, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer team put forth a valiant effort before dropping a 4-0 decision to Jamestown Community College on Wednesday. The Panthers are now 0-2 while Jamestown improves to 2-4.

For the second time this season, the Panthers gave a strong effort. The first three scores came in a four-minute span in the first half.  The 3-0 score lasted until the closing minutes when the Jayhawks added the final tally.

The Panthers were able to take 11 shots, including six on goal, but couldn't find the net. Tompkins Cortland keeper Gabby Foley (Barton/Tioga H.S.) had a good game, making seven saves.

Looking ahead

The Panthers take on the #1-ranked team in the nation on Sunday, traveling to take on Genesee Community College.
