The Tompkins Cortland women's soccer team put together its most dominating performance of the year Wednesday, beating Cayuga Community College 9-0. The win improves the Panthers to 4-5-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga is 0-8 overall and 0-5 in the MSAC.

The Panthers controlled play throughout, holding a 35-2 advantage in shots. The first of three first-half goals came in the second minute when Elise Clavel (Ithaca/Lehman Alternative Community School) bent a corner kick directly into the goal. It was the first of three goals for Clavel as five different Panthers got in on the scoring by the time the final horn sounded.

Clavel led the way with three goals and an assist. Cristina Torres (Ellenville/Ellenville H.S.) and Brianna Allen (Marion/Marion H.S.) each had a pair of goals and Shannon DeRosa (Poughquag/Arlington H.S.) and Paris Good (Syracuse/Ithaca H.S.) each had a goal and an assist.

Goalkeeper Kerrin O'Shaughnessy (Worcester/Worcester H.S.) needed just one save to record the shutout for the Panthers.

The Panthers are back at it Sunday at Mohawk Valley Community College.
