The Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer team set a new season high in goals with an 8-0 win over Cayuga Community College Thursday. The Panthers' second win in a row improves their record to 3-6-2 overall, 3-6-1 in Region III, and 2-2-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga drops to 1-8 overall, 0-8 in Region III, and 0-5 in the MSAC.

The combination of Paris Good (Syracuse/Ithaca H.S.) and Kaitlin Martin (Newark Valley/Newark Valley H.S.) helped set the tone early. Martin scored the game's first goal off an assist from Good midway through the half, with Good making it 2-0 on an unassisted goal a few minutes later. Good connected again with Martin with 9:52 left in the half to make the score 3-0 at the break.

The team's co-captains combined on the first goal of the second half, with to Kaylie Yerdon (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley H.S.) scoring on a header off a corner kick from Sage Garrison (Odessa/Odessa-Montour H.S.) less than a minute into action. The score moved to 5-0 three minutes later when Brianna Allen (Marion/Marion H.S.) connected off an assist from Shannon DeRosa (Poughquag/Arlington H.S.). Kerrin O'Shaughnessy (Worcester/Worcester H.S.) got in the scoring column for the first time this season with a goal off another assist from Good, making the score 6-0 with 31:50 left to play. DeRosa became the sixth different Panther to score a goal when she scored off an assist from O'Shaugnessy with 6:52 left, and then O'Shaughnessy closed out the scoring with her second goal of the day with 1:09 left to play.

By the end of the game, seven different Panthers had scored at least a point. Good led the way with a goal and three assists, one assist shy of the school record. Katie Slocum (Candor/Candor H.S.) earned the win in goal, recording a single save.

The next game will be the last home game of the season for the Panthers. At noon on Sunday, Tompkins Cortland hosts Mohawk Valley Community College, with a ceremony honoring the team's sophomores prior to kickoff.
