Panthers Drop Third Straight

After opening the season by outscoring their opponents 17-2 while winning five straight, the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's soccer team has hit a rough patch. The Panthers haven't scored while losing three straight, the most recent being a 1-0 loss at Onondaga Community College. Tompkins Cortland is now 5-3 overall, 4-3 in Region III, and 1-1 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is now 5-4 overall, 4-4 in the region, and 3-2 in the MSAC.

Despite being held off the scoreboard, the Panthers didn't lack for opportunities as the team put 10 shots on goal. On the other end of the field, goalkeeper Katie Slocum (Candor H.S./Candor) registered eight saves for the Tompkins Cortland, with the game's only goal coming off a corner kick midway through the first half.

The Panthers look to get back on track Wednesday at home against SUNY Adirondack. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
