A team score of 379 was good enough for the Panthers to claim third place in the Mid-State Athletic Conference golf championship Friday. And while the team took third place, Mackenzie Constable (Sidney/Sidney H.S.) earned co-medalist honors among female golfers, carding a score of 107 to finish in a tie with Hannah Kirk from Onondaga Community College. Constable's effort marks the first time a Panther woman has brought home that trophy.

The MSAC Championship was held as part of the Jefferson Invite at The Elms Golf Club in Sandy Creek. The Panthers were third in the MSAC Team Championship and fourth in the overall Jefferson Invite. Cayuga Community College won both the MSAC Championship and the Invite with a score of 324. Onondaga took second in the MSAC with a 332.

Jake Woods (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) led the Panthers team score with an 85. Sean McDaniel (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) was next at 91 and Jacob Beber (Fort Ann/Fort Ann H.S.) was next at an even 100. Garrett Davenport (Newfield/Ithaca H.S.) rounded out the team score with a round of 103.

Looking ahead

The Panthers travel to SUNY Adirondack tournament on Saturday, April 27.
