Wilbur Ties 3-Point Record in Regular Season Finale

The regular season ended with a loss for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team as the Panthers fell to Onondaga Community College 88-39. Tompkins Cortland ends the regular season with a record of 7-12 overall and 5-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga is 14-7 overall and champions of the MSAC with a perfect 8-0 record.

The visiting Lazers jumped ahead early, making five 3-pointers in the first quarter and another four in the second to put the game away early with a 52-17 lead at halftime. One of the bright spots for the Panthers came in the fourth quarter when Karissa Wilbur (McGraw/McGraw H.S.) connected on a 3-pointer to give her 57 for the season, tying the Tompkins Cortland single-season record set by Taylor Day in the 2018-19 season.

Amarionah Dixon (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) had her 12th double-double of the season, going for 16 points and 18 rebounds. Adrianna Royce (Newfield/Newfield H.S.) added 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Looking ahead

The Panthers are likely to receive a bid for the NJCAA Region 3 postseason tournament that starts next week. The tournament seedings are expected to be announced on Thursday.
