Tight Road Loss for Panthers

A tight game ended with the first road loss of the year for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team Thursday, as the Panthers fell to Fulton-Montgomery Community College 65-55. The Panthers are now 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Region III. Fulton-Montgomery is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in Region III.

After holding a 19-18 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Panthers trailed 30-25 at the half. Tompkins Cortland cut into the deficit in the third, trailing 45-41 entering the final quarter before slipping to the 10-point final margin.

Taylor Day (Brooktondale/Ithaca H.S.) paced the team with 20 points along with 6 rebounds, 3 steals 3 blocks, and 2 assists. Macy Boice (Homer/Homer H.S.) added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal and Ashley Charles (Bronx/Ithaca H.S.) had 9 points and 4 boards. Amber Whitehead (Deposit/Deposit H.S.) pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.

Next up for the Panthers is a return to Mid-State Athletic Conference play with a game at Finger Lakes Community College on Wednesday, December 5.
