Panthers Bounce Back with Big Road Win

Three players in double figures helped the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team roll to a 54-33 win at Clinton Community Saturday. The 21-point win improves the Panthers to now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in Region III play. Clinton is 1-4 overall and 0-4 in region.

The Panthers got off the bus after the long ride to Plattsburgh and immediately went to work. Tompkins Cortland outscored the host team 15-8 in the first quarter and 17-10 in the second to take a 14-point lead into the half. The Panthers won both the third and fourth quarters, 13-10 and 9-5, to stretch the final margin to 54-33.

Reyanah Brown (Syracuse/Syracuse Academy of Science) led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds, adding 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Shantasia Jeffrey (Harlem/Curtis H.S.) also had 14 points along with 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Macy Boice (Homer/Homer H.S.) was the third Panther to reach double figures with 10 points to go with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block.

The Panthers now head into a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday. The next game will come Tuesday, November 27 at home against Jefferson Community College.
