Sophomore guard Tatiana Minnick (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) broke her own school record of assists Saturday, helping the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team to an 85-66 win at SUNY Adirondack. The fifth straight win for the Panthers leaves the team with an overall record of 13-7 and a Region III mark of 12-6. Adirondack is now 5-15 overall and 4-15 in region.

The Panthers trailed early but a 25-11 advantage in the second quarter turned things around and put Tompkins Cortland up 47-36 at the half. The victory was sealed with a third quarter that saw the Panthers outscore the Timber Wolves 22-15.

Minnick had a double-double of 15 points and 15 assists, with her assist number breaking the school's single-game record of 13 that she set earlier this season. The Ithaca High grad has now posted the three best single-game assist totals, and she has done it in the last month. At the same time, her strong play of late has moved her within range of both the season and career assist records, marks that have stood for nearly a decade.

Jaida Washington (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) also had a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds, the ninth time this year she has gone for more than 20 points and the seventh time she has grabbed at least 15 boards. MacKenzie Kenyon (Ovid/South Seneca H.S.) posted 18 points and 6 assists and Taylor Day (Brooktondale/Ithaca H.S.) added 16 points. Reyanah Brown (Syracuse/Syracuse Academy of Science) had 8 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, the second-straight game narrowly missing a double-double.

The Panthers are back in Mid-State Athletic Conference play Wednesday at Onondaga Community College.
