A 19-0 run to open the game set the tone for what turned into a lopsided win for the Tompkins Cortland Community College women's basketball team Friday night. Hosting SUNY Broome, the Panthers cruised to a 60-21 win to improve to 5-3 in conference and 11-7 overall. Broome falls to 0-8 in MSAC and 2-16 overall.

The 21 points allowed sets a new school record for fewest points allowed in a game, breaking the old record of 24 points allowed in a game against Schenectady County Community College back in 2004. The Panthers limited the Hornets to just 13.4% shooting from the floor for the game while continuing to stretch the lead. The lead was 30-6 at the half with all nine of the Panthers dressed seeing significant playing time early. By the final horn, all nine had scored, with seven having scored at least four points.

Jaida Washington (Elmira/Elmira H.S.) posted her ninth straight double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, adding 6 blocks, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Amber Whitehead (Deposit/Deposit H.S.) had a season-best 13 points and 7 rebounds and Tatiana Minnick (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) finished with 7 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals.

The Panthers are home again Wednesday, hosting Corning Community College at 7 p.m.
