The Panthers softball team has another rough day on Saturday, losing to Onondaga Community College 24-0 and 21-4. Tompkins Cortland is now 0-10 on the year while Onondaga is 16-9 overall and 9-1 in Region III.

Onondaga 24, Tompkins Cortland 0 (5 innings)

The Panthers managed four hits in the opener, but couldn't string them together enough to plate any runs. Meanwhile, Onondaga had no such trouble, combining 17 hits with 11 walks to score 6 in the first inning, 13 in the third, and 5 in the fourth. The game was stopped after five innings due to the run rule.

Elizabeth Ripley (Moravia/Home School), Brianna Stafford (Dryden/Dryden H.S.), Tessa Hilker (Dryden/Dryden H.S.), and Amanda Green (Lansing/Lansing H.S.) each had a hit for the Panthers.

Onondaga again jumped ahead early, scoring three in the first and five in the second. The Lazers blew the game open with 11 in the third before adding another in the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth, the Panthers started the inning with the first four batters reaching base via either a walk, an error, or by being hit by a pitch. All four eventually came around to score as the Panthers put four runs on the board without recording a hit in the inning.

With the score 20-4 heading to the fifth, Onondaga scored one more run before the game was stopped after an injury to a Tompkins Cortland player left the Panthers with just eight players.

Mackenzie Constable (Sidney/Sidney H.S.) had the lone hit for Tompkins Cortland, but Stafford reached base three times, all via the walk. Ashley Aloi (Cortland/Homer H.S.), Kimberly Duda (Homer/Homer H.S.), Alexis Vogtman (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson H.S.), and Hilker each scored a run.
