Second Straight Second Place Finish for Panthers

For the second week in a row, the Tompkins Cortland Community College cross country team brought home a second-place finish. Racing at the Corning Invite, Tompkins Cortland posted a season-best score of 37 points to finish as runner-up to Finger Lakes Community College (23 points). Fulton-Montgomery Community College was third with 63 points. Corning, Jamestown Community College, and Mohawk Valley Community College each had runners, but not full teams.

Racing on an 8K course, Elliott Holland (Watkins Glen/Watkins Glen H.S.) crossed the line in a time of 34:27, good for 5th place overall, his best finish of the season. Robert Brehm (Groton/Groton H.S.) came in 10th place for the second-straight week, running a time of 37:33. Kyle Brown (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) came in 11th, his best finish of the year, crossing the line at 37:34, just a second behind his teammate. Elijah Griep (Groton/Groton H.S.) had a fantastic race, moving up three place from his previous best to place 16th with a time of 40:32. Andrew McDaniel (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) was next with a time of 45:25 for 21st place. Tanner Sorbera (Burlington Flats/Edmeston H.S.) came in at 52:10 for 23rd place and Keiyondre Lester (Oxford, Miss./Oxford H.S.) was 24th with a time of 1:00:48.

The Panthers have a week off before taking part in the Mid-State Athletic Conference championship at Finger Lakes Community College on October 24.
