Panthers Men's Soccer Ends Regular Season with Road Loss

The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer team ended the regular season on a down note, falling 6-2 at SUNY Broome on Wednesday. The Panthers now stand at 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Broome improves to 4-9 overall and 2-2 in the MSAC with one game left on their schedule.

Both Tompkins Cortland goals came in the first half. An unassisted score by William Pritchard (Jacksonville/Charles O. Dickerson H.S.) was followed by a goal Carlos Rivera (Ithaca/Lansing H.S.) off an assist from Vinicius Idalgo (Jacarei, Brazil / Colegio Alcance), but the Panthers still trailed 4-2 at the break. A pair of Broome goals in the second half sealed the win for the Hornets.

Jeremy McGrath (Henderson Harbor/Belleville Henderson H.S.) had seven saves for the Panthers.

Looking ahead

The Panthers await word on the possible NJCAA Region 3 playoff bid next week.
