The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer team made it three wins a row with a 2-1 win over North Country Community College Sunday. The Panthers are 3-1 overall and 3-0 in Region III; North Country is now 1-2 overall and in region.

Since the season-opening loss to a Division I opponent, the Panthers haven't trailed at any point in a game. The pattern held form on Sunday, although it took a while for the home team to get the offense going.

Over the first 45 minutes the teams combined for a single shot on goal, with the 0-0 score holding into the break. In the second half, Jake Lewis (Dryden H.S./Dryden) finally put a ball on goal, beating the North Country keeper for a 1-0 lead. The goal, assisted by Andrew Stewart (Charles O. Dickerson H.S./Trumansburg), put the Panthers ahead with 34:12 left on the clock. It was a short-lived lead, as North Country came back and took advantage of Panther miscue to equal the score just over two minutes later. The deadlock held until 14:17 left on the game clock, when Adam Nichols (Candor H.S./Candor) took a pass from Brandon Dunne (North Babylon H.S./North Babylon) near midfield, beat his defender to the goal, and then bested the North Country keeper in a one-on-one. The game-winner was the sophomore's first of the year.

Freshman keeper Jack English (Charles O. Dickerson H.S./Trumansburg) earned his second win of the year, posting four saves.
