The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's lacrosse team ended the season on a high note with an 11-3 win over Finger Lakes Community College on Monday. The win in the final game of the season leaves the Panthers with a record of 3-4.

Coming off a pair of shutout losses, the Panthers were able to get the offense back on track in the finale. Ben Miller (Owego/Owego Free Academy) got things going with a goal midway through the first quarter, and then a second score three minutes later. A late score by Finger Lakes made it 2-1 at the end of the first.

The Panthers took control of the game in the second quarter with six straight scores. Only a last-minute score by Finger Lakes broke the streak, but not before the Panthers were able to take an 8-3 lead into halftime. Two more goals in the third put the game away for Tompkins Cortland, and after each team netted one in the fourth, the final horn sounded with the Panthers up 11-3.

Miller led the way with six goals, with Tosh Marshall (Sylvan Lake, Alberta/H.J. Cody H.S.) also tallying six points on three goals and three assists. Brett Willcox (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) and Tavyn Malchak (Homer/Homer H.S.) each had a goal in the win, as all the goals for the Panthers came from freshmen.

Sophomore goalie Declan Fullerton (Westchester/Walter Panas H.S.) had another fine day in his last game in the pipes for the Panthers, recording 16 saves.
