Two Tompkins Cortland Community College golfers took part in Day One of the NJCAA Region 3 Championships on Monday. In addition to crowning the regional champion and individual all-region winners, the two-day tournament hosted by Niagara County Community College at the Glen Oak Golf Club in East Amherst serves as the qualifier for the NJCAA national tournament.

Zachary Jacobson (East Amherst/Williamsville East H.S.) carded an 86 on day one, with teammate Patrick O'Neill (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) just a stroke back at 87. At the midway point ofn he tournament, the cut line for all-region consideration was an 85, leaving both Panthers in contention heading into the final round on Tuesday.
