Lapp Takes Lead at Golf Nationals

Tompkins Cortland Community College's Daniel Lapp (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson H.S.) continued his climb up the leaderboard at the NJCAA Division III Golf Nationals Thursday, taking the lead after day three of the four-day tournament. Lapp fired a 73 on Thursday to stand at 225 for the tournament, one stroke ahead of Chris Kraft from Sandhills Community College (N.C.).

Lapp was tied for 6th place after the first day and moved up to a tie for 2nd place after Wednesday's round. He enters the final day as the first Tompkins Cortland golfer to hold a lead at the NJCAA Nationals since Kris Boyes won the national championship in 2008.

Lapp will tee off for the final round at 9:24 Friday morning at the par 72 Lake Course at the Chautauqua Golf Club.
