Tompkins Cortland Community College's Daniel Lapp (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson H.S.) made a move up the leaderboard at the NJCAA Division III Golf National Tournament Wednesday. Standing in 6th place at the start of the day, Lapp climbed up into a tie for second place, just two strokes behind the tournament leader at the midway point of the four-day tournament. Lapp carded his second straight 76 on Wednesday to stand at 152 for the tournament. Trey May of Georgia Military College leads the field with a 150. Lapp is tied for second place with Mason Landborg of Minnesota State Community College.
Lapp will tee off for his third round at 10:20 Thursday morning. The tournament runs through Friday at the par 72 Lake Course at the Chautauqua Golf Club.
