Golfers Finish Fifth at Panthers Open Championship

Another cold and damp day greeted Region III golfers Sunday as Tompkins Cortland Community College hosted the Panthers Open Championship at Elm Tree Golf Course in Cortland. With golfers from ten school competing, the Panthers finished in fifth place with a team score of 320. The team title went to Onondaga Community College with a score of 309, five strokes ahead of SUNY Adirondack.  

Tompkins Cortland sophomore Daniel Lapp (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson H.S.) finished in a three-way tie for the tournament's best score at one-over par 71. Tyler Clark (Odessa-Montour H.S./Odessa) was next at 77 followed by Jake Woods (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) at 82 and Sean McDaniel (Dryden/Dryden H.S.) at 90. William Stouffer (Candor/Candor H.S.) finished at 91 and Alex Sanford (Cortland/Cortland H.S.) had an even 100.
