For the first time in ten years, both Tompkins Cortland Community College basketball teams have qualified for the postseason in the same year. The men are the #9 seed and will play at #8 seed SUNY Adirondack Sunday. The women's team was awarded the #8 seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 3 tournament and play Wednesday at top-seeded Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
The men earned a playoff spot for the second straight year after a lengthy absence from the postseason. The Panthers finished the regular season with a record of 12-10 in regional games. Adirondack also went 12-10 in region, but earned the higher seed on the strength of their 80-69 win in Dryden on January 14.
The Tompkins Cortland women are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2019. The Panthers have a Region 3 record of 6-9 and have the task of playing the top team in the Region, 15-0 Fulton-Montgomery in Johnstown. The two teams squared off January 29 in Dryden, with Fulton-Montgomery winning 80-34.
