Panthers Men Overwhelmed by Nation's #3

The Tompkins Cortland men's basketball team ran up against one of the hottest teams in the nation Saturday, and the result wasn't pretty. Playing on the road against #3-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College, the Panthers lost by a final of 117-54. Tompkins Cortland is now 3-5 overall and 3-4 in Region III. Mohawk Valley is 8-1 overall and 6-0 in region.

The Panthers struggled on both ends of the floor. Just one Panther reached double figures in scoring, with Hunter Williams (Waterville/Waterville H.S.) scoring 11 points. Derek Brower (Queens/Half Hollow Hills West H.S.) scored 9 points and Devonte Henry (Brooklyn/Boys and Girls H.S.) had 8 points and 7 rebounds.

The Panthers get a break for Thanksgiving before hosting Hudson Valley Community College on Monday, December 2.
