First-team all-state selection Jourdan Belcher has committed to join the Panthers men's basketball program this fall. The Alexander Hamilton High School senior signed his NJCAA National Letter of Intent to come to Tompkins Cortland.
James Rhodes has committed to the Panthers men's basketball program. The Irvington high senior has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent to come to Tompkins Cortland this fall.
The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team dropped its season finale Saturday, losing at home to Cayuga Community College 78-71. The Panthers finish the season with a record of 5-17 overall and 1-11 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga is now 8-14 overall and 4-7 in the MSAC.
Playing well in stretches wasn’t enough for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team Wednesday as the Panthers lost on the road to #6-ranked Onondaga Community College. The Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team opened the season Friday with a non-region game against one of the top teams in the nation. Hosting Northampton Community College (Penn.), the Panthers matched up with the Spartans over a close first half, but saw things slip away in the second of an 85-64 loss. It was also the first game of the year for Northampton, a team that spent several weeks ranked in the top ten in the nation last season and was among the schools receiving votes in the this year’s preseason rankings.
