Twenty-four turnovers proved to be too much to overcome for the Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team Saturday as the Panthers lost at home to Onondaga Community College 84-63. The Panthers are now 5-8 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Onondaga stands at 12-5 overall and 3-1 in the MSAC.

Tompkins Cortland led by six early, but Onondaga quickly erased that lead while running to a 42-29 lead at the half. The second half saw the Lazers slowly add to the lead, ending with the 19-point margin.

Four Panthers reached double-digits in scoring. Jonathan Baker (Staten Island/Curtis H.S.) led the way with 14 points while pulling down 8 rebounds. Tahleek Weekes (South Queens/Construction H.S.) had 13 points and Shareef Ali (Queens/Martin Van Buren H.S.) added 11 points.

The Panthers are back in action Sunday with a Region III contest at Columbia-Greene Community College.
