Panthers Cruise to 30-Point Win

The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team opened the game on an 18-2 run and never looked back, cruising to a 92-62 win over Clinton Community College Saturday. The Panthers improve to 3-3 overall and 3-2 in Region III games while Clinton drops to 1-5 overall and 0-5 in region.

After the game-opening spurt the Panthers added a 16-4 run later in the half to take a commanding 47-19 lead into the break. The lead grew to a high of 37 in the second half before settling in on the final spread of 30 points.

Bakary Magas (Harlem/Heritage H.S.) had a huge day, posting double-double in the first half before finishing the game with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Tahleek Weekes (South Queens/Construction H.S.) finished with 15 points to go with 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Mario Antenor (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla./Coconut Creek H.S.) tossed in 15 points.

The Panthers now get a 10-day break from games for the Thanksgiving holiday. The team returns to the court Tuesday, November 28 for the Mid-State Athletic Conference opener at Jefferson Community College.
