Coach Ryan Stevens talking to an assistant In four seasons as head baseball coach, Ryan Stevens has turned the Panthers into a consistent playoff contender. Stevens, who was an assistant at Tompkins Cortland from 2006 to 2010, took over as head coach for the 2014-15 academic year. His teams have shown steady progress each year, with the 2018 squad earning the program's first trip to the NJCAA playoffs in nearly a decade. The 2018 team set program records for wins, winning percentage, and every pitching category imaginable. Combining his time as an assistant with his current run as head coach, Stevens has helped more than 40 Panthers move on to continue their playing careers at a four-year institution. His 2018 team alone sent 11 players on to the four-year level, the most in program history.

Stevens has an impressive coaching resume. While on the Dryden campus for his first stint with the Panthers he served as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, helping build a brand new program into a playoff team. In 2008 he entered the world of professional baseball, taking a job with the Texarkana Gunslingers of the Independent Professional Continental Baseball league. After two years and a league championship with the Gunslingers, Stevens took his first head coaching job with the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos League, an independent professional league based in Texas with teams through the southwest. In five seasons as the manager of the Cowboys, Stevens led the team to the postseason each year, capturing two league championships and posting an overall record of 208-119. He was named the Pecos League Manager of the Year, and has helped more than 50 players earn promotions to higher levels of professional baseball, including one, Jonathan Edwards, who made a major league roster (Texas Rangers, pitcher). Two other of his players signed contracts with Major League affiliates: David Valesente (cathcer, Pittsburgh Pirates organization) and Andrew Wall (pitcher, Washington Nationals organization).
