Rain Brings Early End to Sophomore Appreciation Day

The regular season finale for the Panthers baseball team, a doubleheader against nationally ranked Niagara County Community College, was washed out on Tuesday. The teams made it through three innings of the first game at Cornell University before Mother Nature won out and the games were called. The fate of the Panthers' playoff hopes now rest with the results of other teams' games the res of the week. The final field for the Region III playoffs won't be determined until Thursday, with the playoffs starting Saturday.

While the rains wiped out the game, the Panthers were able to recognize the team's sophomores. Sophomores Ryan Foody, Daniel Santiago, Brandon Aylesworth, Jacob Mosher, Brandon Grant, Austin Kulas, and Alex Babcock were honored on the field, with a special note that the class of 2019 graduates as the most successful class in the history of the program, having won a total of 41 games over the past two seasons.
