National Honors for Academics for Seven Panthers

2019 NJCAA All-Academic Team

Seven Tompkins Cortland Community College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Sage Garrison (Odessa/Odessa-Montour H.S.), Amanda Green (Lansing/Lansing H.S.), Austin Kulas (Moravia/Moravia H.S.), and Kaylie Yerdon (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley H.S.) were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Team for the second straight year; it was the first time Kimberly Duda (Homer/Homer H.S.), Jessica Fisk (Waterloo/Waterloo H.S.), and Ryan Foody (Tully /Tully H.S.) were honored.

"Year in and year out, NJCAA student-athletes continue to set a new standard both on the field and in the classroom," said NJCAA President and CEO Christopher Parker. "The 2018-19 academic year was no different as student-athletes raised the bar once again to reiterate the importance of academics throughout the NJCAA. As an association, we take tremendous pride in knowing that our student-athletes put their best foot forward each day to become well-rounded members of their team, their campus, and their communities."

Garrison (women's soccer), Green (volleyball and softball), Kulas (baseball), and Yerdon (women's soccer) each was named to the second-team, which requires a GPA of 3.80-3.99. Duda (softball), Fisk (women's soccer), and Foody (baseball) were named to the third team, which means requires a GPA of 3.60-3.79.
