The MVP of the Mid-State Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship Tournament is this week's Panthers Athlete of the Week.
Damari Johnson earned both honors with an outstanding performance in the biggest game of the year. In the title game against Jefferson, the sophomore led all scorers with 19 points, including making three 3-pointers and going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. The guard also had a big game on the boards, pulling down a team-best 14 rebounds, including six on the offensive end. Johnson also played a game-high 36 minutes, helping the Panthers to win with his inspired play on both ends of the floor.
